e-Learning and Inspection
Does your e-Learning Pass Inspection?
When e-Learning is done well, it can transform organisations, enhance teaching practice, engage learners and allow more flexible access. However, inspections find that many colleges are not using e-learning as widely or effectively as they could. That's why e-learning has just been made a priority for inspection...
From Ofsted Handbook for Inspecting Colleges (May 2006):
(193) e-learning should form part of the overall teaching and learning strategy for courses. There should be appropriate references to e-learning in schemes of work, lesson plans, assignments, course reviews and staff development plans...
(194) In particular, inspectors will evaluate whether:
- staff and learners have the relevant IT skills to make good use of e-learning...
- there are adequate resources for e-learning
- the quality and effectiveness of e-learning is well monitored
