Podcasting Training for the JISC U&I Programme
The JISC Users & Innovation (U&I) programme is helping projects embrace new ways of communicating with their audience. One approach with great potential for this is podcasting, which allows communication to be personal, engaging and portable.
But there's more to it than just picking up a microphone and hitting record. Podcasters need to consider what makes a good podcast? What equipment do you need? How do you capture, edit and publish your audio?
That's why U&I programme manager, Lawrie Phipps, asked us to develop a workshop about creating effective podcasts. He said, We needed training of a certain standard and within a certain time - and Netskills delivered it.

Podcasting Workshop
I really enjoyed the workshop and picked up some useful tips - the enthusiasm of the trainers inspired me to give podcasting a go.

The workshop developed as part of this project provides a practical guide to planning, producing and publishing podcasts. Project leader, Steve Boneham, said, "We start by evaluating a range of podcasts to decide what works and then help participants script, record, edit and publish their own podcast."
