Using Technology to Enhance the Student Learning Experience
Workshops
Netskills provided two free-to-attend workshops as part of the JISC/Academy Collaboration Team's campaign to enhance the student learning experience.
The workshops were aimed at lecturers and learning support staff and took place in Oxford and Newcastle in October 2008. Topics included:
- Technology and the learning experience - case studies
- Learner to learner communications and learner to tutor/staff communications
- Mobile learning for a range of learning contexts
- Use of a range of social media tools to enhance student engagement e.g. blogs, wikis and social networking sites like Facebook
- Resources to support students on their learning journey
- Learner access to resources
- Resources to support students on their learning journey
A pre-event online activity was developed consisting of web-based exercises exploring facilities that provide cross-searching of both JISC and Academy resources.
