Supporting Academic Staff in using Technology to Enhance Learning
Workshops
As part of the JISC/Academy Collaboration Team's campaign to support academic staff in teaching, learning and assessment, Netskills provided two workshops. The workshops were free for attendees from higher and further education. Participants, including lecturers, learning technologists and educational developers, were able to explore a variety of technological resources and investigate their pedagogic value. Topics included:
- e-Learning design and development
- e-Portfolios for critical reflection
- Mobile learning: Communication and Collaboration
- Practical work with Blogs and Wikis
- Information Literacy: Is Google enough? - finding quality information effectively
Feedback from participants was excellent - one higher education lecturer commented:
The course was excellent, mainly due to the opportunity to practice and explore the topics covered.
A pre-event online activity consisting of web-based exercises explored facilities that provide cross-searching of both JISC and Academy resources.
