Information Skills for Teachers: Is Google Enough? Description of workshop run for the Information Skills for Teachers project, 2006

Everyone uses Google to find information on the web, but could you be using it more effectively? Or indeed, is there life beyond Google? This workshop will give you a greater understanding of how Google works and equip you to search it, and other sites, more effectively. You will also assess your own skills in finding and using information more generally, identifying your strengths and weaknesses and developing strategies for improvement.

Who is it for?

The workshop is aimed at secondary school teachers who use the web to find information and wish to improve their searching and information skills.

Participants are expected to have basic computer skills and to be familiar with using the web through a browser such as Internet Explorer.
