Other information skills projects include:
The Eduserv Foundation has awarded Netskills two grants to fund projects relating to information literacy in the schools sector.
Both projects will be led by Helen Blanchett and have been developed from the recommendations of pilot projects completed in 2006.
Plagiarism Awareness Programme for Teachers and Support Staff
This project involves running a series of three awareness raising workshops for secondary school teachers and librarians, to equip them with the knowledge and skills to provide guidance to pupils on avoiding plagiarism.
The materials from the workshops will be put together into a package designed for use in cascade training within schools.
The project involves consultation with Local Education Authorities, the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and appropriate teaching and library representatives.
Teaching Information Skills in Secondary Schools
This project aims to put together a package of materials designed for use in cascade training sessions to equip school librarians and teaching staff with the knowledge and skills to develop their pupils' information literacy.
The materials will be tested and disseminated via a one day workshop.
