JISC Institutional Responses to Emergent Technologies Supporting Studies and Synthesis Project

Netskills was invited in mid-2008 to plan to undertake a Supporting Studies & Synthesis project for the JISC Institutional Responses to Emergent Technologies (IRET) programme. Consultant Trainers Will Allen and Steve Boneham delivered the project, with external consultancy provided by James Cornford of Newcastle University.

The Netskills project team supported the programme, liaising with the JISC programme manager, Rob Bristow, and synthesising the outputs from 6 pilot projects. Two highly successful programme meetings were arranged and facilitated with attendees including all pilot projects plus external stakeholders.

Supporting studies and other outputs delivered by the project include a landscape report, overview slidecast (embedded below), case studies and guidance materials for HEI senior managers. These are all freely available from the IRET project blog.

IRET Slidecast

This IRET Slidecast, produced by JISC Netskills, provides a succinct overview of the issues addressed by the Institutional Responses to Emergent Technologies programme. It also introduces the 5Rs model, developed by the project team to help institutions formulate a coordinated "institutional response".
