Collaborative Web Tools for Knowledge Transfer & Business and Community Engagement
Working in Business and Community (BCE) involves collaborating as part of your day-to-day work, from face to face meetings to conferences, collaborative bid writing and e-mail communication. This workshop examines some of the web-based tools available which can enhance collaboration and make working with others in BCE easier. The workshop will provide practical examples of use of tools relevant to BCE, and will offer hands-on experience using some tools and technologies to work collaboratively. Time will be available after the end of the workshop programme for those which wish to gain additional hands-on experience of using the tools discussed during the day, or for one-to-one advice and guidance.

Who is it for?
The Workshop is suitable for all staff working in Business and Community Engagement roles, including those involved in Knowledge Transfer, Technology Transfer, Commercialisation and all 'Third Stream' activities.
Participants need no specific technical experience for this workshop but it would be advantageous to be familiar with the use of a web browsers (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox) and Microsoft Windows based products.
By the end of the workshop participants will have:
- Learned about a number of web-based collaborative tools
- Explored practical BCE-specific uses of tools not always thought of as relevant to BCE.
- Considered the implications of the use of tools particularly in areas such as confidentiality and IP Protection
- Gained hands-on experience in the use of tools
- Explored the Netskills BCE Toolkit to help inform choices in the use of collaborative tools
