Community Participation with Blogs and Social Networking

09:30 - 16:15 Thursday 14 October 2010
Netskills Training Suite, Herschel Building, Newcastle University

The "social web" can often seem a bewildering place, full of trolls, avatars, tweets, pokes, Nings and other mysterious, arcane language. For many, this is a barrier to using this technology. Tools like blogs and social networking offer many advantages to the education community but are sometimes hard to break into.

This workshop will help you overcome common hurdles and start using these tools to carve out your own identity and share your message with the widest audience possible.
