Delivered over 3 days, this workshop teaches comprehensive techniques, methodologies and tools to enable you to confidently design, develop, assess and evaluate e-learning. By attending this cutting-edge workshop you will be able to apply proven instructional design methodologies to develop pedagogically effective e-learning.
This workshop will be an intensive training experience. The number of places are limited to allow attendees to work through their own specific e-learning issues and questions with the Consultant Trainer and complete the work required for their qualification.
This event would suit those looking for a comprehensive e-learning workshop, and a qualification. It will also complement the skills of anyone involved in the design, development, delivery, implementation, support or management of e-learning.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and have learned an awful lot. I found it much better to do the course over a 3-day block rather than attending individual sessions.

Danny, can I say what an excellent event yesterday's workshop was! So good to attend something that was focussed, relevant, interesting and well-structured...and backed up with really useful materials.
Excellent and really inspiring but at the same time very approachable.

- This unit considers strategies and techniques for the design of effective e-learning. It employs a practical, problem-solving approach to designing pedagogically aligned e-learning across diverse levels of learning and teaching. It aims to develop skills in planning and design that will allow subsequent development and implementation processes to be more efficient and more likely to meet their goals. Full unit description.
- Develop e-Learning

Feedback from previous attendees
This event is always popular with participants, achieving good feedback scores: nine out of ten would recommend it to a colleague. Here are few more snippets from the feedback:
This course was just what I was looking for...
Enjoyed the course and both trainers were very knowledgeable and friendly
The course was excellent - very well structured and presented.
It was interesting to discuss e-learning through the theories that may be informing an academic's approach to e-learning. This knowledge will help me to market my e-learning units to the academic staff.
As well as a rewarding learning experience, this event also provides recognition for your new skills and knowledge through our BTEC-accredited professional development programme.
The course is well run by a dedicated group of staff whose assessment is accurate and consistent throughout. Feedback is excellent both in quality and quantity, with learners being told what they must do to rectify errors and being allowed time to do so.

Why would I want a qualification?
Our training has a well-earned reputation for helping participants develop the practical skills they need. However, we know that sometimes you need proof of your abilities. That's why this event was designed to lead to a recognised qualification in e-learning. It is awarded through BTEC, meaning that it's thoroughly quality controlled and widely recognised.
How do I get my qualification?
You will complete a number of short practical assessments, receive tutor feedback and support, and by the end of the workshop, you will have completed the qualification, subject to final verification.
Workshop Venue
The workshop will take place in the fabulously equipped Netskills Training Suite at Newcastle University. The Training Suite has recently been refurbished; it's a bright and airy space with a large lecture room, quality computer rooms and relaxed coffee areas (free coffee always available!).
About Newcastle
Take advantage of this workshop ending on a Friday and enjoy a weekend in the North East!
Newcastle upon Tyne is an historic city of cultural attractions and impressive architectural grandeur. Grey Street, in the heart of the city, was voted best street in Britain by Radio 4 listeners and described by John Betjeman as the most imposing facade in Western Europe ... Not even Regent Street, even old Regent Street London, can compare with that descending subtle curve.
The Quayside area by the River Tyne boasts the splendid BALTIC centre for contemporary art and the Sage Gateshead, home for music and musical discovery.
There are numerous bridges across the River Tyne, the best known being the Tyne Bridge which has not only become a symbol of the city but was also the prototype for the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The impressive new millenium bridge (aka the 'winking' or 'tilting' bridge) is also a must see!
If shopping is your love, you'll be overwhelmed with opportunity in Newcastle!
If you'd like to explore the region, Hadrian's Wall, Durham Cathedral, Alnwick Castle, Tynemouth Priory or the scenic Northumbrian coastline are all within easy reach. Whatever your preference, you're sure to have an enjoyable and memorable break.
