Entering an online research community
The modern research community is truly global and close collaboration with colleagues located around the world is commonplace today; ideas are exchanged, working papers written and data presented - all ‘online.’
Postgraduates regularly attend conferences and research seminars where they meet other researchers working on similar or related topics to their own. But how many of them keep in touch with such contacts, keeping up to date with the progress others have made with their research?
More importantly, how do postgraduates keep others, including potential future employers, informed about their research?
The global research community is powered by the World Wide Web (WWW) and this programme provides researchers with the necessary skills to be able to start utilising its potential.
