One-to-One Training Skills
Increasingly library staff are supporting individuals in their use of ICT, whether informally or as part of one-to-one coaching sessions. Planning and delivering effective ICT sessions involves taking account of learners' skill levels and learning styles, in order to help learners make the most of ICT and the internet.

Who is it for?
This workshop aims to equip library staff to deliver one-to-one training sessions more effectively. It is aimed at anyone involved in supporting library uses in their use of IT and the internet.
Participants need no special technical skills; however, it is expected that participants will have some training experience and will be familiar with using the internet. Participants should be familiar with using a Windows-based computer and using the internet via a web browser such as Internet Explorer.
By the end of the workshop participants will have:
- Gained an understanding of learning styles and their importance
- Seen examples of activities that cater to different learning styles
- Explored and discussed methods of adapting to learner needs
- Explored methods of measuring and evaluating learner progress
- Evaluated online resources for inclusion in training sessions
