Web Development Project Development
Overview
This unit provides an opportunity to apply the knowledge , understanding and skills acquired from the programme to develop a practical web site solution to a realistic problem. Candidates will be expected to develop this project within their own working environment with support from Netskills. Projects can be developed individually or as part of a small team, providing each candidate can clearly demonstrate their role and responsibilities in the project.
All diploma candidates are required to undertake this core unit.
Key Unit Areas
- Review the web site project plan and undertake necessary updates.
- Develop the project in accordance with the agreed design.
- Document the practical implementation of the project.
- Monitor the progress of the project against original timescales.
- Control the development to correct any variance from original plan.
- Implement the completed project.
- Evaluate project outcomes against the original project brief.
- Provide an analysis of results and make recommendations for future developments.

This unit is supported by self-directed learning with online support from Netskills. There is no workshop component associated with this unit.
Required evidence
To demonstrate that the outcomes for this unit have been met, candidates will be required to carry out and evaluate a significant web development project in accordance with the plan agreed and submitted for the unit 'Web Development Project Brief'.
