Carl Vincent Systems Manager
Carl has been developing and managing the IT infrastructure systems since joining Netskills in 1997, having graduated from Newcastle University with an MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
He has skills and experience in :
- Designing, implementing and integrating web-based business systems
- Managing systems on Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris and Linux platforms
- Planning and leading development projects
- Legal issues affecting online and IT systems
Carl has worked for Netskills since graduating and has been involved with a variety of projects including online content delivery and assessment systems, online product sales, event management systems and web site design. He also maintains many of the underlying support systems for the Netskills infrastructure and has also managed the service provision for the Internet Detective online tutorial for the Institute for Learning and Research Technology.
Carl also collaborates with other systems staff in the university and has been involved in integration work and development of new services. He also provides technical services to customers of the IT Training Suite.
In spare time Carl enjoys sailing and takes part in yacht races at the Royal Northumberland Yacht Club. He also enjoys other outdoor activities including cycling and gardening.
