Netskills Trainer Delivers Database Design Training at UCLA

Paul Trueman, Netskills Consultant Trainer, has been away in July 2006, delivering a week of training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). As a qualified SQL instructor, he led 23 UK HE and FE teachers through an intensive database design and SQL programming course as part of the annual International Oracle Academy training programme.

This was Paul's fifth trip to the Oracle summer school at UCLA. "After providing my students with nine weeks of distance learning support and tuition, it was fantastic to finally meet them and help them acquire their Oracle certification", he said.

This year the event attracted over 250 qualified teachers from across North America and Europe with more than 40 coming from the UK. "It was great to see so many new instructors from across the UK successfully complete the intensive professional training", Paul commented. "Pass grades were higher than ever this year and the level of commitment from both the new instructors and their trainers was exceptional."

Effective database design and coding skills are vital for the development of data driven web sites and Paul's involvement with the Oracle Academy demonstrates Netskills' commitment to providing high quality internet training to the academic sector across (and outside!) the UK.
