Netskills welcomes JISCMail helpdesk to its offices

Lisa Vincent has put on hold her position as Netskills Training & Administration Coordinator to take on a 6-month secondment as the Helpdesk Operations Manager for the mailing list service JISCMail.

The service, which is run by JISC Advance, currently caters for over 11000 list owners and a subscriber base of over one million.

To help deal with email and phone enquiries from list owners and users, Lisa has been joined by a new member of staff Dan Etherington. The duo will look after the helpdesk service for the initial 6 month period.

Lisa, who has working for Netskills over 11 years, said she's excited about the new challenge.

As part of my Netskills role, I've been taking care of the helpdesk for the online conferencing platform Blackboard Collaborate which I've really enjoyed. It's great to be able to focus my full attention on a customer-facing job.

Dan joins JISCMail Helpdesk with a background in supporting iOS products at the Apple helpdesk.

Netskills Director Dave Hartland welcomes the service into the Netskills offices and back to Newcastle University where it originated over 20 years ago as Mailbase.

STFC - the Science and Technology Facilities Council - has done a tremendous job with JISCMail over the years, he said.

We look forward to continuing that success and developing further what has become an important communication tool for the education sector.
