Netskills becomes part of the School of Computing Science

Following the physical move to be closer to its training facilities, Netskills has now moved departments to become part of the School of Computing Science at Newcastle University.

The move, which took place formally on the 1 August, saw Netskills leave its home of 15 years within Information Systems & Services (ISS).

Dave Hartland, Director of Netskills, said the development was an exciting one for the team.

Our remit and services is an excellent fit with the School of Computing Science and we are keen to take advantage of the opportunities that will arise from this link up, he said.

According to Professor Pete Lee, Head of the School of Computing Science, the transfer will enable the School to expand and enhance its outreach activities in a number of areas.

We’re expecting Netskills to become a key part of our outreach activities and are looking forward to working with the Netskills team to continue existing activities while looking to exploit the new opportunities that this transfer will enable, he said.
