Following their success, two Netskills-led Business and Community Engagement (BCE) projects are given the go ahead to carry on their work.
'Supporting Training, CPD and Staff Exchange for BCE Practitioners' will continue to develop the online self-evaluation tool currently in its pilot stage. Managed by Consultant Trainer Helen Blanchett, the project will also continue to work with key stakeholders to develop CPD framework for BCE practitioners.
Another BCE project set for extension, 'BCE Awareness and Education for the wider JISC community', has been funded to continue its activities until July 2011. Led by Senior Consultant Trainer Chris Young, the project is currently getting ready to showcase its findings so far in an event on 1 October in Aston Conference Centre in Birmingham.
Netskills' BCE Manager Rob Allen said that the continuation is a great reward for the hard work the project managers and BCE team have been putting in the projects.
It's been really encouraging to see these projects contribute towards the growing integration of external engagement activities within Universities and Colleges
, he said.
The projects have done a fantastic job in supporting the development of a better understanding of skills development, and the issues that institutional support services face in taking on the challenge of supporting external partners and services.
Since the start of the programme in May 2008, JISC Advance has led on five projects, all covering different aspects of BCE in higher and further education.
