News: Trialling remote training and support
Published Monday 08 March 2010 by Steve Boneham
To extend the reach of Netskills' training, we're experimenting with new methods for online delivery and support. From live streaming of presentations to online practicals and remote support, there are more ways than ever to get the training you need.
The ever-increasing rate at which new technologies are appearing and the potential they have to improve our working practice means that our training continues to be in high demand. To help satisfy that demand, we're looking at new and more flexible ways to deliver our training.
For example, we're currently providing online training in podcasting for the JISC RSC North West. Consultant trainer Steve Boneham explains how this has worked:
"Participants were first sent a pre-recorded video giving an overview of the basics of podcasting. They then carried out some independent evaluations to get an idea of what makes a good podcast. This preparation allowed the live webcast to focus on production."
"Over the next few weeks, participants will record their own podcast, with our trainers available to provide online support if needed. They'll then upload their podcasts to our site and review each others' podcasts."
If you would like to discuss remote training and support, do get in touch to speak to Steve or one of our other Consultant Trainers about the possible options.
