Netskills has released the final report and workshop materials from the recent Eduserv project that raised awareness of plagiarism issues in schools.
The project involved consultation with education and qualifications authorities and subsequent development of materials, used to deliver three workshops during 2008. Each workshop included presentations, activities and the opportunity for attendees from the schools sector to discuss plagiarism and related issues.
The project found that although plagiarism is often a high profile issue (a film crew even attended one workshop!), it is still not being addressed in a strategic way in schools. To help address this issue, the materials from the workshops are now being made freely available to schools.
One workshop attendee commented, "I really enjoyed the day and found it very useful to get the links and definitions of plagiarism. There's lots of good stuff to keep and refer back to when needed."
All slides, handouts and teacher's notes are available on the Netskills web site, along with the project final report. The materials are freely available for educational use.
