Following early success with current projects supporting the JISC Business and Community Engagement programme, Netskills has won £40,000 of funding for the second phase of the Awareness and Education project.
The project is raising awareness within the education sector of how JISC can support and enhance the efforts of education institutions to work more closely with their communities and local businesses.
The Netskills Team are working with experts from the BCE community and other JISC Advisory Services to organise conference sessions, dedicated events and materials in print, audio and video format. They will be encouraging discussion and sharing of best practice in institutional support for BCE, as well as showcasing the work of other projects in this programme.
"We're looking forward to getting stuck in and organising some great events for the community," said events co-ordinator Lisa Vincent. "It's going to link in really well with all the other BCE projects going on at the moment."
This project, running until July 2009, is one of four being delivered by the JISC Advisory Services as part of the JISC Business and Community Engagement Programme.
