News: Access our Training Materials using your institutional login
Staff and students from most UK universities and colleges no longer need to register a username and password to access our Training Materials. As part of a major revamp of the online access system, we've added the ability for users from licence holding institutions to login using their normal institutional details - via the UK Access Management Federation.
Carl Vincent manages the Netskills Training Materials. He said, "Having to register and remember yet another password can become a barrier to licensed users accessing our materials. For most people who use of Training Materials, that barrier has now been removed."
Our Training Materials website has also been overhauled, with improvements to its navigation and usability. Further improvements will appear over the coming weeks.
Carl also said, "We now have a depth of experience having incorporated federated access with the Training Materials site. We'll be sharing the lessons learnt in the upcoming training events for other online services adopting federated access management."
The Federation is the core of a JISC led programme to make it easier for users to access online resources. The system allows users to authenticate themselves at their home organisation's website and then access online resources without having to login again or register new details.
