New Team for Business and Community Engagement

3 staff from Netskills and JISC InfoNet have formed the new national Business and Community Engagement (BCE) coordination team representing the 7 JISC Advisory Services. Rob Allen heads the team, with Marc Dobson and Andrew Stewart, based between the universities of Newcastle and Northumbria. Working closely with the JISC BCE programme manager, Simon Whittemore, the team will provide a key link between JISC Innovation Group, JISC Services and staff working in BCE activities in universities and colleges.

BCE includes both research and innovation-led activities (e.g. consultancy and commercialisation of research) and education-led activities (e.g. CPD and employer engagement).

The team will coordinate a number of activities, including 4 major projects from the BCE programme, delivered by the JISC Advisory Services with BCE practitioners. The themes for these projects are:

* CPD and training

* Trialling online collaborative tools

* Embedding BCE through business process improvement and internal engagement

* Awareness and education in BCE for the wider JISC community

"It's a great opportunity for the advisory services to work closely with this diverse group of staff, and to show what a real impact the work of JISC can have on their complex working environment," said Rob Allen.
