News: Netskills featured on Slideshare

A recent conference presentation given by Netskills' Steve Boneham and Will Allen is currently one of Slideshare's top presentations.
Their presentation, Too Much of a Good Thing? Individual and institutional responses to emergent technologies has had over 1000 hits and has been downloaded 160 times in less than a week.
Steve and Will were attending the JISC Users and Innovation programme's second Next Generation Environments conference in Birmingham. "We ran a discursive session," Steve said. "I started off by giving an overview of the topic accompanied by highly visual slides, posing lots of questions designed to provoke an audience reaction, and encouraging them to consider emergent technologies from different perspectives."
"We actually uploaded our slides during the session," said Will. "Our initial intention was simply to make our slides available to people who attended the session but then Slideshare got in touch asking if we were happy for them to add our slides to their list of featured presentations."
It's clear that individuals have enjoyed flicking through the slides, but what is the institutional response to the use of tools like Slideshare, one of the leading social media tools? "That sort of question is exactly what we were asking during the session," Steve said. "Different institutions take different stances, some embracing emergent tools and technologies, others concerned with issues of policy, control and intellectual property."
