A few events in Netskills Development
1995 Established at Newcastle University as part of the JISC e-Lib programme
1995 Netskills-news mailing list established, it currently has over 1,000 members
1996 Netskills staff participate in the INET internet workshops for developing countries
1996 TONIC online internet tutorial launched and Netskills Training Suite opened
1997 Netskills staff write the TERENA Internet Users Guide and for the first time over 1000 people attend Netskills training events
1998 Netskills becomes a JISC service and is largely self-funded from workshop and training materials income
1999 Gold Scheme launched providing access to Netskills Training Materials under licence
2000 Netskills expands to include the further education sector as part of its core community
2001 Training provided to the public libraries sector as part of the People's Network (over 40 authorities involved) and the 10,000th individual attends a Netskills workshop
2002 The Netskills BTEC-accredited Professional Development Certificate launched
2003 Launch of Netskills e-learning workshop programmes
2004 Netskills writes Effective Practice with e-Learning case studies for the JISC e-Learning and Pedagogy programme and provides a training programme for the Specialist Colleges community
2005 Provision of training programmes for the Adult and Community Learning (ACL) sector and Netskills expands to 14 staff
2006 Launch of the new BTEC accreditation programmes in e-learning and web development at Award, Certificate and Diploma levels
